Obituary of Carolyn Brazell Sims

Carolyn Brazell Sims, 82, of Cassatt, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. Born in Camden on January 23, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Raeford and Bertha Kelly Brazell, and the wife of the late Charles W. Sims, Sr. Carolyn loved romance novels, watching her “stories”, doing crossword puzzles, and drinking coffee. She was a loving and giving person and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Taylor; grandchildren, Heather O’Quinn (Zach) and Jessica Beck and her children; and great-grandchildren, Bre Lloyd, Brice Nichols, Blakelyn Nichols, Haley Wise, Kristina Wise, and Rayna Curtis.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Norma Boone; siblings, Raymond Brazell, Irvin Brazell, Eunice Smith, Grace Todd, and Lucille Brazell; and grandchildren, Daniel Curtis and Brent Nichols.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service, beginning at 1pm.
