Obituary of Larry E. Makison
CAMDEN- Funeral services for Larry Eugene Makison, 82, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to IPF Foundation at 21301 S Tamiami Trl Ste 320 PMB 226, Estero, FL 33928.
Mr. Makison passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Claude Price and Louise Mann Makison. Mr. Makison was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and received a bronze star for his service in Vietnam. He enjoyed gardening, going to the beach, coaching softball and was a servant to his family and parents. He was a die-hard Clemson fan and enjoyed watching college football.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Geneva Corbett Makison; children, Carolyn Rabon of Camden, Debra LeGrand (James) of Lugoff, Wanda LeGrand (Ronnie) of Lugoff, Kimberly M. Gibson (Robert) of Kershaw; siblings, Claudine Davis of Anderson, Floyd Makison of Anderson, Jerry Makison of Milford, KS; grandchildren, Tiffany Deas (Coleman), Robbie Boykin (Melissa), Jeffrey LeGrand-Douglass (Chris), Nicki Todd, Jason LeGrand, Rusty Jackson (Beth), Riley Gibson; great-grandchildren, Hannah Boykin, Marcus Boykin, JC LeGrand, Taylor LeGrand, and Channing LeGrand; and a very special niece, Patsy Ray.
He was predeceased by siblings, Sandy Smith and Sybil Miles.
