Obituary of Marion Lavon Watts

Marion Lavon Watts, 74, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. Born in Kershaw County, he was the son of the late George W. and Eva Hornsby Watts. Lavon was a US Army Veteran, where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of Sandhill Heights Baptist Church in Elgin. Lavon was an avid fisherman, and he loved the Lord, his family, his country, and singing gospel music.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Watts Casey (Michael) of Elgin; and grandsons, Joshua and Nicholas Casey.

In addition to his parents, Lavon was preceded in death by his siblings, Pete Smith, Bobby Smith, Doris Gilmore, Willie Smith, Anne Corbett, Don Watts, Linda Hastings, and Dickie Watts.

The funeral service for Mr. Watts will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Sandhill Heights Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial will be held in Sandhill Heights Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sandhill Heights Baptist Church, 2992 Bowen Street, Elgin, SC 29045.
