LUGOFF - Funeral service for Leila G. Vaughan, 74, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Camden. Rev. Joe Stines and Rev. Daniel Pierce will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Vaughan died Sunday, January 27, 2008. Born in Chesterfield, S.C., she was a daughter of the late William Manuel Grooms and Leila Mae Brown. She was an Evangelist with the Church of God of Prophecy before going to work as a Customer Service Rep. at Wal-Mart in Camden, S.C. Surviving are her children, Glenda Cook of Lugoff, Mitchell Vaughan of Camden, Vickie McCathern of Cassatt, Myron Vaughan of Lugoff, and Mark Vaughan of St. George; brothers, Paul Grooms of Elgin, and Don Grooms of Camden; sisters, Ann Cobb of Camden, and Louise Hyatt of Lucknow; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, W. Oren Grooms of Cassatt, Grady Grooms of Columbia, and Glenn Brown of Charleston; sisters, Leolis Harris of Lexington, and Nora Outlaw of Camden.
