Obituary of Brian Butler Stevens
A graveside service for Brian Butler Stevens, 41, will be held at 10:00am on Monday, July 19th, 2021, at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veteran’s Cemetery in Anderson, S.C. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2:00pm at Second Presbyterian Church, 105 River St, Greenville, S.C. 29601.
Brian passed away on June 25, 2021, in San Antonio, TX. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Joseph Butler Stevens and Martha “Marti” Collins Stevens. Brian joined the U.S. Air Force and served in Afghanistan and Qatar. Following active duty, he served in the Air Force Reserve and was employed as an airplane mechanic. Brian was a graduate of USC Upstate. He had attended Second Presbyterian Church of Greenville and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Brian had a kind and generous spirit that was evident in his love of his family, friends, and all animals. He was an accomplished cook and enjoyed cooking for and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his brother, Ben Stevens of Montana; sister, Amy Stevens Plourde (Garison) of Greenville; nieces, Christine, Renee, and Nicole Plourde of Greenville; aunts, Libby Martin (Bob) of Lugoff, Caroline Williams (David) of Charlotte N.C., and Cate Stevens of Greenville; and uncle, Rev. Decherd Stevens (Sylvia) of PA.
He was predeceased by his parents; an aunt, Gail Stevens; and uncle, Guy Stevens.
