Obituary of Leo Jeffers
ELGIN – Funeral service for Leo Singleton Jeffers, 79, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Miles and the Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Tri-County.
Mr. Jeffers passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late David and Lillian Moak Jeffers. He served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed working on old cars and gardening.
Surviving are Jean Jeffers; their sons, Troy Jeffers (Becky) of Lugoff, Lannie Jeffers of Leesville, and Stacey Jeffers of Elgin; brothers, Tommy Jeffers (Christine), Donnie Jeffers (Suzie) and David Jeffers, Jr.; sisters, Mary Rose, Elaine Perry (Jack), and Debbie Melton; grandchildren, Brandon Jeffers, Justin Jeffers, and Kristen Jeffers; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose Jeffers. He was predeceased by brothers, Rev. Ronald Jeffers, Larry Jeffers, and Davidstean “Buddy” Jeffers; and sister, Blondie Wilson.
