LUGOFF – Services for Thomas L. “Les” Edwards, 81, will be private. Mr. Edwards died suddenly on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Providence Hospital. Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late James Owen Edwards and Alice Thomas Edwards. He retired from DuPont and the South Carolina National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel. Surviving are his wife, Jean Gates Edwards, of 29 years; sons, Thomas L. Edwards, Jr. (Jan) of Summerville, S.C. and Stephen L. Edwards of Columbia; sister, Eleanor Mann; and grandchildren, Laurel Edwards and Stephen Edwards, Jr. Les asked that you remember your favorite charity, family and friends and to remember him as the last time you saw him.
