Obituary of Frances Marie Cox

LUGOFF- A graveside service for Frances Marie Cox, 88, will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in Ashwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Chaplain Scot Douglass will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Center.

    Mrs. Cox passed away Wednesday, September 08, 2021. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late James Henry and Geneva Weaver Scurry. Mrs. Cox was a member of Ashwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and word searches.  

    Surviving are her daughter, Judy Gladden of Elgin; grandchildren, Tasha Back (Jason), Lori Alvarez (Saul), Jason Gladden (Theresa), Leslie Gladden; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Lewis Scurry, Allen Scurry and Betty Jean Scurry Hodges. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Woodie Joyner; and several siblings.
