Obituary of Carolyn DeBruhl McCall

Kershaw-A funeral service for Carolyn D. McCall, 78, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Vince Earls will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

    Mrs. McCall passed away Friday, October 15, 2021. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Ruben and Alvo DeBruhl. Mrs. McCall attended DeKalb Baptist Church. She played basketball in her high school days wining the state championship at Baron DeKalb High School. She also enjoyed bowling, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren.

    Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Charles “Chuck” McCall, Sr.; sons, Charles “Chuck” McCall, Jr. (Donna) of Kershaw, Scott McCall (Shelley) of Kershaw; sister, Vicki Nelson (Ronnie) of Camden; brothers, Michael DeBruhl (Georgette) of Kershaw, Gary DeBruhl of Kershaw; grandchildren, Ivy McCall, Logan McCall, Matthew McCall, Emiley McCall; special nieces, Lisa DeBruhl, Karen Vincent, Cheryl Broughton; special nephew, Russell Nelson; life long best friend, Beverly “Pitts” Simpson; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Jo “Sam” Hilton.
