Obituary of Grayson Shirley
Grayson Shirley, 75 of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born in Camden, South Carolina on October 14, 1946, a son of the late Homer Moore Shirley and Lillie Belle Cameron Shirley. He had been a long-distance truck driver for many years. Grayson was always the life of the party and enjoyed time with his family. He always looked forward to the annual First Cousin’s Christmas party hosted by first cousin, Henry Powers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Shirley and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Jamie Shirley, and Savannah Valen Shirley; great-grandchildren, Maddon Shirley and Riley Shirley; brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Sabrina Shirley; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Bill Ragar; parents-in-law, Lee and Sarah Hobbs; brother-in-law, Michael Hobbs; and niece, Renee Ragar. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Hobbs Shirley; sons, Randy Shirley and wife, Sheila and Darren Shirley; grandchildren, Jessica Walker Grayson (Ashley) Shirley, Brittany Shirley, Landon (Megan Miller) Shirley, Dawson Shirley, Dalton Shirley, Madison Shirley, Jeffrey (Ashley) Shirley, Melissa (Josh Cannon, Jeremy “Boogie” Shirley and Jonathan Shirley; great-grandchildren, Jamie Grayson Shirley, Jr., Kaleigh Shirley, Zoey Walker, Jacob Walker, Weston Shirley, Scotland Shirley, Brookson Shirley, Lindsay Shirley, Jeffery Shirley, Abigail Shirley, Cameron Shirley, Emily Shirley, Jacob Shirley, Jamie Shirley, Joshua Cannon and Carolina Cannon; great-great-grandchild, Lillian; brother, Rev. Timothy B. Shirley and wife, Vickie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Lin and Kim Hobbs, Glen and Amy Hobbs, Tammy and David Cox and Karen Hobbs; nieces, Tina (Luke) Lewandowski, Gayle (Jimmy, who was like a son) Kirkland, Erica Shirley West, Danielle Shirley and Brian Shirley; special niece, Sarah Cox; nieces and nephews, Lee Cox, Lindsey Stewart, Christopher Hobbs and Jacob McGeorge; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at the Lugoff Church of God. Rev. Tim Shirley will officiate the service.
