Obituary of Ray M Smith

Ray M. Smith, 81, of Camden SC, passed away at his home on Friday, December 17, 2021, surrounded by family. Born in Florence, SC, on July 5,1940, he was the son of the late Marie Crowley and Robert Lee Smith.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 26 years, Roseanna M. Smith. Mr. Smith retired from the State of SC, as the Director of Communications. He enjoyed golfing, telling jokes, his dogs (Molly and Millie), he was a die hard Gamecock fan, and was a snoopy connoisseur. To Ray, once a friend, always a friend.

In addition to his wife, Roseanna M. Smith, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Britton Smith and his wife, Tricia; daughter, Jill Marie Combs and her husband, John and their children, Jordan Combs and Drew Combs; step-daughter, Tammy Threadgill and her husband, Robert and their children, Victoria Lopez and her husband Jay, and their son, Gabriel, and  grandson, Hunter Rice and his wife, Kasey; step-son, Buck Lowery and his wife, Angie and their children, Richard and Kelly;  step-son, Jeremy Lowery and his children, Alayna, Jax and Nolan; and brother, Jim Smith and his wife, Penny with numerous neices and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home following the service.
