Trevor and I went to school together from elementary to high school at Richland Northeast. Trevor was always a warm and friendly person. Our paths crossed about 15 years ago at a restaurant and we caught up and then our paths crossed again about 5 years ago when I was up at Lexington Medical Center, as we were both there for a procedure. Whenever we saw each other, it was as if we never lost touch. I can’t say enough great things about him. May he Rest In Peace and may God bless your family and provide you with all you need to meet your physical needs and emotional healing .

Trevor will be missed by so many. I had the good fortune of having him in my physical education class for 2 years. We shared laughter and good conversations. He was, in my 31 years of teaching, my favorite student
I know he is looking down on us with that great big smile! RIP Trevor

I talked to Trevor regularly and he was the most gentle, sincere person and was always happy regardless of whether or not he was sitting having dialysis or delivering pizzas. I sure will miss him... he meant a lot to me! RIP my friend... in Christian love. Linda

I have known Trevor all the way back to kindergarten/1st grade...probably the first time I got in trouble in school...we were kidding around and he sat on me and we were both sent to the principal...throughout the years..we ran into each other at different places...mainly the different clubs that he would be bouncing at ...always made me feel like we were best friends even though we rarely saw each other or hung out for extended periods of times....will miss seeing his posts and the random run ins and most of all his friendship and positivity

I cannot shake this pain I'm feeling...I still feel like any moment I will wake from this horrible dream or should I say nightmare...God makes no mistakes, but this is a hard pill to swallow. Although you have suffered with your health issues for years, you remained true to your God and never gave up on Him. Your spirit was one that was always positive to the point that you uplifted others in their time of need. Even when you lost your legs, you saw the bright side and found the best way to make US feel better about YOUR situation. I remember in the late 70's to early 80's coming to Columbia to look after you and your sister Tedra in the summer while your mother and father worked. Although you were only five years younger and much bigger than me, I was mainly there for Tedra, however, your parents made me watch you as well and I looked forward to my summers in Columbia. You will always be more than my first cousin....you will be my lil big bro... you fought a good fight, and kept the faith, never wavering and for that I am at peace...but still hurt... Erika Smith Mars, thank you for all you did for Trevor and for being by his side when he needed you most...we are most grateful for you
Until we meet again, Trevor Mars

I always remember Trevor from IPCOG. He was part of the choir. He loved to sing. He seemed to take on an angelic persona. It was amazing. His height and stature seemed to carry his voice up, loud and strong. You knew he could sing. He always spoke and had a kind smile. Will be missed.

Trevor was a co-worker at wallgreens . I remember taking my brakes and seeing a odd lunch box wondered. ( wow what’s he eating for lunch?)
Then one day he came thru the door as usual big smile and radiant positive attitude he carried every where he went , he made statement he didn’t need to take his legs off to be in uniform. I was puzzled and he walked off , I asked my manager ( did I miss somthing? )
She stated no it was no joke he literally has no legs. I was amazed . I then asked well I wonder what he has in that lunchbox in the refrigerator cause it looks awfully fancy she said that’s not a lunchbox that is dialysis machine. I felt like a fool not only did he never let on that he had any health issues or did he ever let on that he was tired after dialysis he was always this ball of joy. no matter what he was going to make you laugh that day. It was then that I realized you know we need more people like him in the world if I had a headache or an earache or hadn’t slept well I no longer could complain about anything that was wrong with me because there was so much he had that he could’ve complained about and been a miserable person and after seeing him and what he was going through there was no way that whatever I had going on was way worse than what he was and he was so happy all the time. I’ll miss Trevor and to those who didn’t know trevor they missed out on knowing one of the best people I could ever meet.

I knew Trevor going back to church as we were little kids going to Zion Canaan Baptist Church. One of many great moments with Trevor. He was so full of life. Always smile cut up telling jokes. I remember when we were older and we were at that age we could go out and I’ve member seen them out one time down at five points and I stopped him and talk to him within three minutes of talking to him they were about 15 people stop by to knowledge him. That’s the kind of guy he was touch so many peoples lives. Love you my Brother you will be miss. R.I.P Trevor

I don’t honestly know what to say. I remember the day I met Trevor at church! He was the tallest man I’d ever met with a gentle giant personality. I asked him one Wednesday night why on earth was he not in the choir? His voice was angelic!!! He was so loving, LOVED his Erika! I am a better person for having known this sweet man, “my boyfriend” as we all joked. Until we meet again, with your new body, watch over Erika and all of us my friend.
