Obituary of Gerald John Moon, Sr.

LUGOFF – A service to celebrate the life of Gerald John Moon, Sr., 71, will be held on Saturday, February 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  The Rev. Mike Vinson will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

    Mr. Moon passed away at MUSC Kershaw Health on Thursday, January 27, 2022.  Born in Concord, N.C., he was the son of the late Charles Woody “C.W.” and Lucy Nell Bost Moon.  He worked in the Heating and Air Condition business for over 40 years.  He enjoyed working, gardening and creating things with his hands.

    Surviving is wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Louise Peake Moon; son, Gerald “John” Moon Jr. (Shannon) of Clover; sister, Teresa Poole (Doug); brothers, Charles Moon (Wilda), Herman Moon, and Barry Moon (Debbie); sister-in-law, Peggy Moon; and grandchildren, Taylor Moon Russell (Dylan), Kaitlyn Moon and Brianna Moon.  He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Heilig (Nolan); and brother, Boyd Moon.
