Obituary of Joyce Thurm
CAMDEN – Funeral services for Linda Joyce Dixon Thurm, 72, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Malvern Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Craig Thompson and the Rev. Richard Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 – 9 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Malvern Hill Baptist Church or The American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Thurm, wife of the late George Thurm, passed away February 25, 2014. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Mabel Evans Dixon. Mrs. Thurm was a member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed crochet, reading, and traveling with her sisters.
Surviving are her daughters, Darlene Gardner (Eddie) of Camden, Rhonda Templar (Erik) of Camden, Sharon Jackson (Jeff) of Jensen Beach, FL; son, Darrell Thurm (Andrea) of Monroe, N.C.; sisters, Brenda Watts (Gerald), Janice Horton (Garth); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Minnie Dixon and Adele Kotalarsic. She was predeceased by her husband; son, Matthew Thurm; and brothers, Billy Dixon, Joe Dixon, Dewey Dixon, and Hewey Dixon.
