Obituary of Frances Darlena Messer
ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Frances Darlena Fields Messer, 81, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at International Praise Church of God with entombment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens, Columbia. The Rev. Doyle Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to International Praise Church of God.
Mrs. Messer passed away at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. Born in Fort Mill, she was the daughter of the late Deacul Cleveland and Daisy Ervin Fields. She was a member of International Praise Church of God and the National Federation of the Blind. For the last 50 years, she ran and operated canteen and vending services for the Commission of the Blind.
Surviving are her sons, David Messer of Anderson, S.C. and Darryl Messer (Ann) of Aiken, S.C.; sister, Linda Walker of Fort Mill, S.C.; granddaughter, Cassy Bazemore (Drake) of North Augusta, S.C.; and granddaughter, Blakelyn Bazemore.
