Obituary of David Albert Barnes

A home going service for David Albert Barnes will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cedar Cemetery. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Albert Barnes, age 70, was born on June 13, 1951 to Albert and Hannah Austin Barnesin Camden, S.C. He entered into eternal reson on Friday, March 4, 2022 after a brief illness. 

He worked as a horse groomer in Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware before retiring in Camden.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hannah; three brothers, Dan Barnes, Larry Hunter, and Johnny Wood; three sisters, Sally Murphy, Catherine Murphy, and Hattie Dixon.

Those left to cherish his memories are three daughters, Kesha L. Timbers and Carol E. Barnes of Charlotte, NC, and Kathy R. Barnes of Camden, SC; one stepson, Kevin J. Barnes of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Corey L. Timbers of Columbia, SC and Candace R. Barnes of Camden, SC. He also leaves five sisters, Rosa Lee Barnes of New Haven, CT, Willene Dixon of Bishopville, SC, Sue Scott, Gracie (Johnny) Brown and Mary Gaskins of Camden, SC; one brother, Harold Hunter of Camden, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
