Obituary of Donald T. Frierson

LUGOFF – A graveside service for Donald Travis Frierson, 87, will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to USO, PO Box 96860 Washington, DC 20077-7677.

    Mr. Frierson passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Life Care Center of Columbia.  Born in Turbeville, S.C., he was the son of Norma Lee Frierson.  He retired from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 and was an Army electronics Trainer. Mr. Frierson received an Associates Degree in Business from Midlands Technical College, Bachelor of Science from Limestone College, and Master of Business Administration from Brenau College.   He also retired from ETV where he was an Electronic Technician. Mr. Frierson was an avid sports fan, especially an Atlanta Braves Baseball Fan and attended many games.

    Surviving are his wife, Doris Frierson; children, Don T. Frierson, Jr. (Genie), Ken A. Frierson (Martha), Cathy Delk (George), Lisa G. Werdunn (Karl), Steve Frierson (Carla); siblings, Karen Moore, Robert Frierson (Joann), Jim Porto (Vicky); grandchildren, D. Travis Frierson, III, Derek Frierson, Adam Delk, Aubrey Delk, Geoffrey Temple, Lindsay Medlin, Felicia Frierson, Melissa Frierson; great-grandchildren, Lyssa Frierson, Alec Frierson, Jackson Delk, Macon Temple, Alice Temple, Samuel Temple, Eli Frierson, Mia Frierson.
