Jeanette, Joann, Joan and family, I am deeply saddened to hear about Joyce. I am in total disbelief and shock. I just saw Joyce in the middle of February at another funeral. She was just as happy and jovial as ever. Joyce ALWAYS welcomed everyone with open arms. My heart goes out to ALL of you. Joyce will be very missed by all that knew her and loved her. Dear Family and Dear Hermitage Baptist Church, We as a Church Family will all agree that we are mourning and have lost one of God's greatest blessings. Joyce was tireless in her dedication to our Church Family. She filled many of the various jobs along with her sister Jeanette at her beloved Church, and her guidance and efforts will be sorely missed. Two of her lessor jobs were to make sure I washed all dishes according to her standards and trying to do her best with the sound system to make my solos palatable to whomever was in attendance on any particular Sunday. One thing I can tell you is she definitely had an opinion on most everything, and you didn't need to find out what it was. You would know quickly where she stood on most issues It was impossible not to love her. That is a truism. She would not allow you to not love her. Our Church Family will testify in unison that we love and adore you Joyce, our sister in Christ Jesus. We look forward to a reunion with you soon. God bless and keep us all until that day. Praise be to God.

My mother the late (Shelby Napper Lockamy) was a friend of Joyce’s from school all the way up to her final days where Joyce was by her side when she passed. They were the best of friends but considered themselves as sisters. Joyce never met a stranger and she was always willing to help and give her love freely. She was one of the kindest souls that ever came into my and she will be truly missed by all. My condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends in this time of sorrow.

I have so many memories of sweet Joyce. She got me my first job at Little Theater. Always admired her shoe collection. We played cards in the back of shorthand class. Never got caught. My deepest condolences to all her family and friends. We shall meet again. XO
