Obituary of Russell Graham
ELGIN – Funeral service for Russell Graham, 49, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ken Jackson and the Rev. Eric McAvoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Charles Everett speaking at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Cranial Technologies Inc. or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Graham died Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Born in Loris, he was the son of Devon Graham and the late Carolyn Lowery Graham. He was employed with Auto Zone in Elgin and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports and would help coach his children’s ball teams with the Kershaw County Recreation Dept. He was a former wrestling coach with Lugoff-Elgin High School and coached in 2003 when they won the State Championship.
Mr. Graham was an avid Gamecock and Atlanta Braves fan. He also enjoyed working on cars but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Patricia Buff “Pat” Graham; father, Devon Graham; sons, Gary Graham (Marcus) and Timmy Graham (Misty); daughters, Holly Kaiser (Lee) and Amanda Moore (Dom); sister, Teresa McAvoy (Eric); brother, Roger Graham (Laura); and grandchildren, Logan, Gary Jr., Aidan, Hannah, Bella and Piper Graham, Billy, Matthew and Conner Moore, Autumn and Jackson Kaiser. He is also survived by his mother-in-law; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews; and was loved by many and he loved all.
