Obituary of Noel Green Burton, Sr.

LUGOFF – Noel “Budman” Green Burton, Sr., 86, passed away on July 26, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born on February 12, 1936, to the late Harry Burton and Elizabeth Allen Burton, in Danville, VA. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Kaye Burton. He owned and operated Burton & Sons Roofing for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid NASCAR fan and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

    Surviving are his sons, Ricky Lee Howard, Noel Greene Burton Jr. (Sandra), and Dale Wayne Burton; daughters, Shirley Joe Martin, Darla Melinda Covin, and Wendy Virginia Benton (Bruce); grandchildren, Madison Kaylee Benton, Haylee Nicole Benton, Alicia Marie Martin, Robert Anthony Martin, Jessica Ann Covin, Samuel Clark, Casey Howard, Brandon Burton, Haley Burton, Brittney Burton, and Jordan Burton; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Harry S. Burton, Jr., Eleanor B. Howell, and Juliette B. Sige. He was predeceased by his brother, James Allen Burton and sister, Gertie B. Burnett (Willard).

    A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
