Obituary of Carolyn Joyce Schmidt

ELGIN- Carolyn Joyce Schmidt, 82, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022. Born in Sarasota, FL, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Moss and Orra Belle Jarrett Thigpen. Mrs. Schmidt worked as a housekeeper and enjoyed cleaning. She also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, yard sales, and taking care of her pets.

    Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Virgil Pittsley; children, Martha Hiles, Patricia Lambert, Linda Knowles, Robert Buhlinger, Kurt Buhlinger, Mark Buhlinger, Eric Buhlinger, Karl Buhlinger, Rodger Buhlinger, Joe Buhlinger and Sharon Hutson; siblings; Mary Maggard, Charles Moss; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, William Burd, brother, A.D. Moss; 3 grandchildren and 2 sons-in-law.
