Obituary of Edith M. Geiger
LUGOFF – Edith Mobley Geiger, 81, of Lugoff, S.C. peacefully slipped away to be with her Lord on Monday, March 24, 2014. She was born in Anderson, S.C., the daughter of the late Ray and Frances Duncan Hurt.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Miller (Dr. Douglas) of Gaston, S.C.; son, Jackie Mobley (Sharon) of Rock Hill, S.C.; sisters, Rheta Day of Elgin, S.C. and Kathy Hurt (Steve) of Anderson, S.C. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Troy C. Smith IV of Lugoff, Sabrina Mobley of Rock Hill, Jason Mobley of Union; and a step-granddaughter, Brandi Miller, a student at Clemson University. She had unconditional love for and from her dog, Mollie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert “Bob” Geiger; son, Michael Mobley, and his wife Brenda of Union, S.C. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Elgin, S.C.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Services will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Drees and the Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Palmetto Health Richland Hospice for their care, compassion, and time spent during this difficult time. Also appreciation is extended to Intramed Plus; to Dr. Sidney Morrison for his gifted hands and compassion which allowed us to enjoy additional years with mother; last, a warm embrace for John and Glenda Brittian and Robbie and Marie Coker for their love and support.
