Obituary of Annie Powell

Annie “Bobbie” Iola Powell, 98, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022. Born in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hewson McEntire and Annie Jane Roberts Yates. Mrs. Powell owned several restaurants and also worked in the retail industry. She was apart of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Powell enjoyed her computer and tending to her garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Delores Ann Snelgrove; son, Herman Stevenson “Steve” Powell, Jr. (Sandra); sisters, Frances Dolcita Yates and Olga Cosita Yates; grandchildren, Josh Powell, Trey Covington (Kelli), Ginger Marturano (Glenn), Cynthia Ann Arden, Delores Michelle Maddison, Robert “Robbie” F. Lorick and Melanie Baker; 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Powell was predeceased by her beloved husband, Herman S. Powell Sr.; sister, Leola Agatha Yates; and grandson, Steven Powell.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Columbia.
