Obituary of Dave Davenport, Jr.

Larry S. “Dave” Davenport, Jr., 54, of Elgin, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Larry Shoemake Davenport, Sr. and Linda Robinson Bramlett, and the stepson of the late William T. “JR” Bramlett, Jr. and Myra Senterfeit Davenport. Dave was the husband of Martha Davenport. He was a skilled carpenter and an avid Gamecock fan. Dave graduated from Central Carolina Technical College in 1992. He also served in the Army National Guard. Dave was a Christian and was also proud to be an organ and bone donor. Above all, he was a loving husband, brother, son, and uncle who will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, mother, and step-mother, Dave is survived by his siblings, Sandy D. Owen (Rick), Candy L. Rowland (Harry), Heather D. Stoudemire (Chad), Mandy D. Diri, Jennifer Bramlett, and Priscilla McLeod (Jamie); his nieces, Kayla Barrow, Katie Rowland, Lillie Stoudemire, Caitlyn McLeod, and Lacie Bramlett; nephews, Brad Owen (Shawna), Zayden Diri, Justin Leviner, and Colby McLeod; as well as his fur-baby, Darla Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service in Quaker Cemetery, Camden.
