LUGOFF - Funeral service for Geraldine Octavia Hardin Hinson, 68, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to El-Bethel Faith Community Church. Mrs. Hinson died Saturday, February 09, 2008. Born in Smyrna, S.C., she was a daughter of the late James Furman and Octavia Elizabeth Helms Hardin. She was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church where she was a member of the Sweet Hearts. She loved flowers and enjoyed cooking. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, John Talmadge “Shag” Hinson; children, Geraldine “Jerri” Bryant and her husband, David of Walhalla, Joseph “Benny” Osment, Jr. and his wife Ginny of Columbia, John R. “Johnny” Osment of Jacksonville, Fla., Leonard “Eugene” Osment of Lugoff, Larry Osment of Lugoff, and Paul “Steve” Osment and his wife, Pamela of Lugoff; brothers, Ralph Hardin of Aiken, Furman Hardin of Lugoff, James A. Hardin of Camden, Grover Hardin of Camden, and Marshall Hardin of Cassatt; sisters, Marie Sulzer of Lugoff, Matrell Causey of Cottageville, S.C., Patricia Smith of Pontiac, and Myra LaFoy of Lugoff; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hardin; and a grandson, Christopher Osment. The family express great appreciation to Kershaw County Medical Center, Springdale Health Care Center, and Regency Hospital of Florence for their compassionate loving care.
