Obituary of Rev. Charles Lenwood Miller, Jr.

Rev. Charles Lenwood Miller, Jr., 75, of Lugoff, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Born in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Charles “Charlie” L. Miller, Sr. and Edith Brown Miller, and the husband of Helen “Geraldine” Hancock Miller. Rev. Miller was a member of Blaney Baptist Church in Elgin, SC. He spent his working life as a bi-vocational pastor, serving in numerous churches in and around Kershaw County and working as a Switchman for Farmer’s Telephone Cooperative. Charles was a dedicated Christian and a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed relaxing in the evenings by putting puzzles together on the computer, but he cherished the time he spent with his family most of all.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Rev. Miller is survived by his children, Wendy Weatherly (Ashleigh) of Myrtle Beach, and Jeffrey Miller (April) of Florence; his grandchildren, Seth Miller, Chase Miller, Ashe Weatherly, Heath Weatherly, Wyatt Weatherly, Marissa McKenzie, and C.J. Miller; a great-grandchild, Lincoln Miller; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Brown Alexander.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, Bishopville, SC. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
