Obituary of Paul Eddie West

Paul Eddie West, 79, of Elgin, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023. Born and raised on a farm in Newberry County, Paul was the son of the late Perry Ezekiel and Roberta Dickert West and the husband of the late Carole Talbert West. Paul was a faithful and dedicated member of Blaney Baptist Church. After his service in the Army National Guard, Paul worked for Allied Chemical Fibers in Columbia, where he retired after 48 years. He enjoyed watching and playing golf, camping, and gardening. Above all, Paul cherished spending time with his family and church family.

Paul is survived by his siblings, Anniemae W. Boyd and Margaret W. Smith, both of West Columbia; his beloved dog, George; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Blaney Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Jacob Helsley. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm.
