Dallas was an incredible human. I had the privilege to sit next to him on the graveyard shift for many years at NUMMI. The entire team learned so much from him day after day, year after year. We talked about so many things from the management of the community swimming pool to the Jaguar motor that he was building for race day; oh and work things too! We would problem solve situations together, install equipment and program computers, keep the teams engaged and so much more. I can still fondly remember him walking through the halls with his blue jeans, blue shirt with "Dallas" in script on his chest, and his pony tail and beard blocking his smile somewhere behind all that hair. He was always willing to help and always had an ear when needed. He was truly a mentor too many. Today, he may be gone physically, but he is alive and well in each one of us that had the privilege to learn and grow from him in the knowledge that we have and our memories. Those skills he shared are still being passed down today to a younger generation by us, and although he may not be known to them by name, they will use and continue to pass on his legacy as they get older and teach others. I am proud to have worked and known him as he made me a better person. The world has lost a legacy but has gained a legend. Thank you Dallas, I'll try to make you proud.
