Obituary of Kathy Beasley West

CASSATT – A service to celebrate the life of Kathy Beasley West, 72, will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Camden with burial to follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Cassatt.  The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Camden.

Mrs. West passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 5, 2023.  Born in Kershaw County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Don Beasley and Frances Boykin Lucas.  She retired from Wachovia Bank where she worked for 22 years.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Camden.  Mrs. West enjoyed making sculptured dolls and wedding cakes.  Her most enjoyment came from being a grandma.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Roy C. West, Jr.; daughter, Tammy West Burns (Joe) of Winnsboro; son, Todd Jason West (Mary) of Lexington; grandchildren, Andrew Burns, Matthew Burns, Mary Jane Burns, David West and Grace West; and nephews, Jody Beasley and Travis Beasley. She was predeceased by brothers, D. Steve Beasley and Danny Beasley.

The family extends a special thanks to the caregivers Rosa Peoples, Wendy Baker, Bert Prescott, Precious Reynolds, Jeannie Cannon, Lisa Spradley, Sarah Golson, and Tammy Carr for their loving care.
