Obituary of Thaddeus Lewis Cobb

LUGOFF – A funeral service for Thaddeus Lewis Cobb, 92, will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors and masonic rites will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  

    Mr. Cobb, husband of the late Robbie Roberts Cobb, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Born in Kershaw County, S.C, he was the son of the late Nefford Cobb and Sue Lee Bowers Cobb.  Mr. Cobb was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He retired from the United States Military with 41 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army. Thad was an avid outdoorsman and lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Harlandale Masonic Lodge in San Antonio Texas for 65 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Cathy Cobb Epps (Tim) of Blythewood; grandchildren, John-Michael Cobb (Jessica), William Epps (Lauren) and Brenen Epps; great-grandchildren, Shelby Cobb and Emily Epps; brother, Jerry Lane Cobb (Jean) of Kershaw; sister, Phyllis Sue Dorman (Ralph) of Kershaw; In addition to his wife of 69 years, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Lewis Cobb; and a sister, Peggy Threse Marshall (Stanley).
