Obituary of Marcia Anne Smith Punko
ELGIN – A celebration of life service for Marcia Anne Smith Punko, 38, will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Leonhardt and the Rev. Barbee Parsons will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church MYF Fund at P.O. Box 218, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.
Ms. Punko passed away April 22, 2014. Born in Savannah, GA, she was the daughter of Marshall Wayne Smith, Sr. and the late Anne Fullwood Smith. Ms. Punko was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Newberry College, where she a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She spent most of her time doing volunteer work for Blaney Elementary, United Ministries of Sumter, and St. John’s United Methodist Church MYF and MCF. Ms. Punko was an avid Gamecock Fan.
Surviving are her father, Marshall W Smith, Sr. of Clover; brother, Marshall Smith, Jr. (Jennifer) of Myrtle Beach; nieces and nephews, Marcus, Essence, Jazmyn, and Malik Smith; aunts, Elaine Morgan (Jeff) and Lisa Self (Lester); as well as several other aunts and uncles.
