Obituary of William Joseph Martin, Jr.

ELGIN – Graveside service for William Joseph Martin, Jr., 68, will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made American Cancer Society.

Mr. Martin passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Prisma Health Richland.  Born in North Carolina, he was the son of the late William Joseph Martin, Sr. and Lila-Mae McCollum Browder. He retired from the Army National Guard after 21 years. 

Mr. Martin was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed racing and going to car shows. He was a Chevy Guy! Mr. Martin was a Carolina Gamecock fan and enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving are his wife, Pam Joy Martin; children, Paigelynn Martin, Logan Wiland, Johnny Martin, Robert Martin and Melissa Martin; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Martin and Ronald Martin; sisters, Sharon Haas, and Angie Shealy; Brothers, Wayne Martin, and Joe Riffey (Kimmie); grandchildren, Tyler W. Ek, Austin Martin, Tyler Martin, Brittany Martin, Gracie Martin, Deavin Martin, Kaylee Martin, Elijah Martin, and Destiny Martin and his dog, Buddy. He was predeceased by brothers, Johnny Martin and Roy Martin.
