Obituary of Cecil Bowen
ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Cecil Donnal Bowen, 88, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Bowen, husband of the late Frances Louise Summer Bowen, died Friday, May 9, 2014. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Edwin Eugene Bowen Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Robison Bowen. He served in the United States Navy during WW II.
Surviving are his children, Cecil Stanley Bowen, Danny Lee Bowen (Barbara), Frances Celeste Bowen Reynolds, Rodney Eugene Bowen, Lisa Estelle Bowen Addison and Brigitte Bowen Baxley; sister, Floneita Mack; brother, William N. Bowen; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin E. Bowen Jr.; and son-in-law, Charles Wayne Reynolds.
