Obituary of Murdic Branham
ELGIN – Funeral service for James Murdic Branham, 86, (of the Tookiedoo Community) will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Chris Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
Mr. Branham, husband of the late Evelyn Virginia McPherson Branham, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 with his family at his side. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Dewitt Talmadge and Roxie Elmira Peake Branham. He was a carpenter and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Surviving are his children, Diane B. McCoy (Thomas Jr.) of Elgin, William Murdic Branham (Janet Ward) of Elgin, Virginia B. Fulmer (Dale) of Elgin, Steven A. Branham of Elgin, Robert David Branham (Mollie) of Elgin, Cynthia B. Yount (Ralph) of Lexington and Margaret B. Lee of Elgin; brothers, Gordon Truett Branham (Mary) and Caliph “Sam” Branham (Brenda); sister, Martha Crumpton; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Lila Mae Cooper and Clara Faile; a brother, William T. “Bill” Branham; and an infant grandson, Fulmer.
