Obituary of Phillip Lamar Kirkland

RIDGEWAY- A funeral service for Phillip Lamar Kirkland, 73, will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Eric Boone and the Rev. Ron LaFlam will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

     Mr. Kirkland passed away on July 28, 2023. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late Leslie and Emily Nettles Kirkland. Mr. Kirkland was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and listening to music.

     Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Brenda Smith Kirkland; children, Cody Lamar Kirkland (Holly) of Dalzell, Emily Kirkland Price (David) of Ridgeway, Justin Phillip Kirkland of Ridgeway; grandchildren, Huntley Kirkland, Ashby Kirkland, Joshua Kirkland; and sisters, Margaret Colvin (Wayne) and Nadine Boyd (Milton). He was predeceased by a grandson, Zachery Kirkland; and siblings, Joseph “J.W.” Kirkland, George Leslie Kirkland and Rev. Arlin Kirkland.
