Obituary of Gigi Coleen Johnston

ELGIN- A funeral service for Gigi Coleen Johnston, 60, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 pm at the funeral home.

Gigi passed away on July 27, 2023. Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of Reba Gay “Joann” Heath and the late Lathan Heath. Gigi enjoyed playing pool and taking care of her two dogs, Bella and Sophie. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Ron Burgess; daughter, Amelia Desrochers (Justin) of Elgin; mother, Joann Heath; grandchildren, Annabelle Desrochers, Jonathan Desrochers; and siblings, Gary Pederson, Mike Heath, and Michelle Pedersen. She was predeceased by her biological father, Lawrence "Larry" Pedersen; as well as her step-father, Lathan Heath
