Obituary of Ja'Daisha Shamiya Rivers

Ms. JaDaisha Shamiya Rivers was born on February 11, 2000, to Shanie Halley and Jessie Rivers. She entered into eternal rest on August 17, 2023, at MUSC- Kershaw Health Hospital in Camden, SC. JaDaisha graduated from Lee Central High School in the most achieving class of 2018. She was a devoted employee at Foundever (Sykes) Call Center.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Shanie Halley of the home; father, Jessie Rivers of Columbia; her father-figure, Morris Dow, Jr. of Camden; sisters, Marnaisha Dow and Jamiyah Rivers; brothers, Sha-Morion Dow, Jamaree Rivers, Jayleen Rivers, and Grayson Robinson; her paternal grandparents, Judy Rivers and Jessie Adams (Meka); Rhonda Dow; aunts, Katona Halley, Unwanta Halley-Rufus (Leon), Shayla Thomas, Shaketta Rembert, Pansy Rembert, Tara Sanders (Antonio), Rhyonna Spann, Jessica Holloman (Antoine), and Shanetta Stuckey; uncles, Douglas Kershaw (Christina), Antwan Adams (Mamata), Dejon Singletary (Sommer), and Rashad Dow; god-sisters, Latavia Jackson and Glendetri Williams; special children, Promiz’ Halley, Akirhi Hammonds, Mi’Riyah Rufus, and Journi Dickey; best friends, Rajene Wingate and Stevontae James; as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jasiah Rivers; maternal grandparents, Jacqueline Halley and Leroy Brisbon; great-grandparents, Bessie and Hitrell Halley, Viola Rivers, and Morris Dow, Sr.; and her aunt, Quanda Halley.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Rembert, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Maggie Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
