Obituary of Frankie Lee James
Camden-Frankie Lee James entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC. Frankie Lee James was born on September 02, 1958. He was the son of the late Thomas James, Sr. and Janie James both of Camden, SC. He accepted Christ at an early age at Good Hope United Methodist Church of Camden, SC. He graduated from Camden High School in 1977. He served in the United States Army for 22 years. Where he was honorably discharged in 1992.
Frankie Lee James worked as a welder, construction worker, better known as the “plumber”. If you knew him you would know he was the best “plumber”, Fr Fr “All day, everyday.” Frankie enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved his family.
He was married to Deloris James for 35 years and together for 44 years. From this union three children were born, Cassandra James of Columbia, SC, Tillman James of Camden, SC, and Stephon James of Dalzell, SC; sixteen grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances James Devonish of Pikesville, MD; three brothers, Thomas (Doris) James of
Manhattan, NYC, Johnny James and Larry James, both of Camden, SC; two aunts, Willie Mae Thomas of Camden, SC and Margaret Thomas of Virginia Beach, VA; four sister-in-laws, Tina Tucker, Peggie (David) Ellerby of Camden, SC, Rosa (Tony) Newman of Cassatt, SC and Annette Jefferson of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, Joseph (Barbara) Alexander of Camden, SC; two God children, Rontae Drakeford of Camden, SC and Mallery McShine of Fredricksburg, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends; and two special friends Clyde Williams and Ron Dubose.
Frankie was preceded in death in addition by his parents; two children, Frankie Carroll, Jr., and Evelina Carroll; and one brother, Jesse James.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Good Hope Wesley Chapel in Camden, SC. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 4-6pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. A burial will take place Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10 am at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
