Paul was my trucker brother, we were schoolmates, I had the good fortune to know Paul, so very briefly, but I will be forever impacted by knowing him. He was a truly good man, a gentleman. Throughout school and orientation at work, our group spent a lot of time together, learning our new trade, eating meals together, talking about our future's and our goals. We got to know him as a man who spoke of his family with such love, and pride. Showing pictures of his beautiful family, a wedding picture of him and Kathy, talking about his children, and precious little Ella. Despite the vastness of the roads we travel, we managed to bump into each other twice while working and I heard him call my name. What a wonderful sound to hear your name being called by a familiar voice when your alone in an unknown town, to look up to a smiling face and the warm embrace of a dear friend. I am grateful that I was able to know him, and am deeply saddened he is gone. I wish him family comfort at this time and hope they find some peace in this unimaginable time of loss. Rest in peace brother.

This is a most difficult post to compose. I was (We were) devastated at the news of Paul's very tragic accident; of the remembering when's of the past, wishing on how things might have been different, lamenting on how fragile life is. None of it changes the cold stark reality, of what just is.
Over the recent past years, we were delighted Paul was living his 'best life ever' with his bride Kathy in the warm surrounds of Florida. He had challenges in his professional life as a pressman, recognizing the digital era will replace him. From this, he set off on a new and challenging path as an Over the Road Trucker ORT. His drive and tenacity overcame the challenges of training and his perseverance paid off with his new CDL and job with a national trucking firm. During this time, I told him he will experience the sights few people will ever experience, daybreak on the desert, high mountain passes, to include the chaos of city traffic in a 55-65' rig with weights up to 40 tons. Paul mastered these skills and was preparing to mentor others in training new drivers to the OTR profession.
Today, Paul is at peace, leaving those of us to pick up the pieces and soldier on. Our Grandchildren Olivia and Nick will forever be without Dad. Granddaughter Ella Grace will have scant memories of her 'Poppy'. I do believe though, that through shared memories Paul's memory will remain vivid and alive. Sadly, now, Kathy will be without her partner and soul mate. But now she will pick up the fractured pieces and glue her family together, for that is what we survivors do!
For me, I'll remember taking him to his first Phillies Game, our camping trip, Hershey's Park, Bush gardens. Cutting our live Christmas tree, playing catch in the park across the street in Pine Hill. Then seeing him as a 'grown ass man (Nick)'. Begin his family with Olivia, then Nick. Working crazy hours, picking up odd jobs, mowing lawns, all to provide for his family.... Well done Paul! Rest in peace, the example you provided will live on through your children and grand children.

My dear brother,
Words can never express the feelings felt by your loved ones in a situation like this. But knowing you.....you would tell us not to cry.....you would tell us not to be sad.....you would tell us to be strong and carry on.....then.....knowing you.....you would say a little joke or something funny that would bring a smile to our faces even on the darkest of days. That was your gift from God.....you were a devoted husband, father and grandfather there's no doubt about that.....but your gift from God was being able to make people smile and laugh......even when they didn't want to......I love you my brother

Will miss you and your jokes Pauly D. And Choop calling you Bull, your white truck and swim club, your wedding and all the snow, your love for your wife, your momma, and your kids and Ella. And when I visited you in Florida last summer and the crazy embarrassing post you put on Facebook. You were one of the best. And they always say God takes the good ones young. You have an army in heaven that I’m sure welcomed you with open arms. Will miss you. Fly high with the angels . Xo

Where to even begin? You were one of the best! But God needed you more! So many memories but your comical side will always be my biggest love of you! I remember when you and Kathy met at my graduation party many moons ago, and it’s just a beautiful memory of how much you loved her and your family! You two had a love most will never experience. I take comfort in knowing that. Fly high Paul and always watch over your family and especially Ella and the new little. They will always have the best guardian angel. You always will be remembered! Until we meet again my friend xoxo I love you Kathy and I’m always just a call away! I wish I could make this all go away! Hugs to Nick, Olivia, Chris, Ella, his mom and Al, his siblings and Luigi !
