Obituary of Jasmine Nicole Eley

Jasmine Nicole Eley, a virtuous woman of God, received her Godly promotion into eternal rest on November 2, 2023. She was born on August 14, 1991, to Milton and Narvelia Eley in Camden, South Carolina. At an early age, Jasmine was baptized and ordained at Edwards Chapel A.M.E.Z. Church. Jasmine was a member of the Children’s Sunbeam Choir, an active participant in Sunday School, and a dedicated member of the Spiritually Blessed Praise dance team. Jasmine was a 2009 Honors graduate of Camden High School and a member of the girls basketball team. During this time Jasmine maintained a 3.9 GPA, became a peer tutor, recognized as the Top Chronicle Basketball player in the state. She furthered her education where she attended Campbell University in Boise, North Carolina and later transferred to the University of South Carolina graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Arts Experimental Psychology Cum Laude. In 2020 Jasmine obtained her Master’s Degree from Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina in Special Education.
Jasmine joined God’s Deliverance Center under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Margaret Lopez where she served faithfully on various committees throughout the church. She was a member of the usher board, a singer on the gospel choir, active Sunday school teacher, and a powerful praise dancer. Jasmine accepted the call to become an Evangelist and a Certified Life Coach where she ministered to the youth and adults. Throughout her ministry she showed and demonstrated to others, as long as you put God first, all things are possible.
Jasmine was employed by the Kershaw County School District as the lead Special Education teacher at her Alma Mater, Camden High School. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Lurena Warren; paternal grandmother, Lela B. Hayward; uncle, Michael Warren; and God mother, Rose Davis.
Jasmine’s fond memories will be celebrated by her loving parents, Milton and Narvelia Eley; two sisters, Matilda (Jeffrey) Taylor and Whitley Eley of Camden, SC; precious niece whom she loved dearly, Spirit Taylor; seven aunts, Sharvelia, Robyn, Mechelle Warren, Erica Scott, Julia Mack, Valerie (Joseph) Davis, Charlene, Gloria Hayward, all of Camden, SC; eight uncles, William, Jr. (Debbie) Warren, Franklin (Kimberly) Warren, Albert (Edwina) Warren, Rev. Ken E. Warren (Vanessa) of San Francisco, California, Torrie Scott, David Outten, Andre Hines, Jerome (Electra) Hampton; one Godchild Ky-ren Robinson; God sister, Jacqueline Brisbon; God brother, Sammie (Mary) Brisbon, all of Camden, SC; two fur babies, Muffy Grace and Lucy; and a host of cousins, relatives, and many friends.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jasmine Nicole Eley will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cedar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at God's Deliverance Center, 803 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Camden, SC 29020.
