Obituary of Charles "Chuck" Allen Smith

CAMDEN – Funeral service for Charles Allen “Chuck” Smith, 67, will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate.  The family will receive friends Thursday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Smith passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Leo and Geneva McManus Smith.  He was a carpenter, mechanic, and jack of all trades. He enjoyed rebuilding Volkswagens and could build or fix anything. He loved wheelin’ and dealin’.

Surviving are his companion, Brenda Parker; daughter, Sabrina Tidwell (Michael) of Camden; son, Coy Lee Griffin of Camden; brothers, Mike Smith of Camden, Todd Smith (Lindy) of Cassatt, and Ronnie Smith (Wendy) of Cassatt; sister, Deidre Branham (Paul) of Camden; and grandchildren, Aislinn Tidwell and Landon Tidwell.  He was predeceased by a brother, Marty Smith.
