Obituary of Margie A. Ray

Margie Anderson Ray, 73, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 surrounded by family. Born on July 26, 1950 in Kershaw County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert L. and Lula Boone Anderson. Mrs. Ray enjoyed fishing, flowers, cooking, vacations with her church, gospel music and above all else spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.

Mrs. Ray is survived by her husband of 55 years, James C. Ray, Sr.; sons, Timothy A. Ray (Amy) and Billy Nathan Ray (Ashley); sister, Carol Baker (Roddy); brother, Carl Anderson (Virginia); grandchildren, Nathan Ray, Tyler Ray, Kaitlyn Ray, Hannah Ray, Ashby Tidwell, Gabriel Self and Benji Self.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Ray was predeceased by her son, James C. Ray, Jr.; brothers, Harold Anderson, Farrell Anderson, Levan Anderson, John Billy Anderson, and David Anderson and sisters, Louise Ray, Sybil Smith, and Mary Ray Brown.

Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The Rev. David Brannen will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
