Mr. Mizell taught both of my sons in Sunday School for many years, and he made a wonderful impact on so many lives. Serving beside him at Lugoff First Baptist Church was always a blessing. I know he is now walking streets of gold with his Savior! To the family, I am praying that God will grant you peace and strength in the days ahead.

Jake was married to my cousin, Priscilla Drotts Mizell. She is my only cousin on my Dad’s side. I grew up in northern Minnesota near our Grandpa, an uncle, and two aunts, while Priscilla lived in Minneapolis, so we didn’t spend much time together. Jake and Priscilla visited us a couple times. The interesting thing is that our Uncle Raymond knew Priscilla had married John Mizell, but he couldn’t get used to the idea that he could be called “Jake”. My husband Gary passed away in 2011. So sorry, Priscilla, that you have lost your husband too. Ruby Drotts Hovda
