Obituary of Debra J. Clay
CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Debra Josette Clay, 68, will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Red Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
Mrs. Clay passed away, on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at MUSC Downtown. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Yarborough and Lannie Ruth Clay. She was a school bus driver for the Lee County School District where she has worked for 29 years and was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and singing.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Johaun Faison (Cindy Tonya) of Allentown, Pa., Andre Faison (Demetria) of Sanford, Fla., Alvinetta Rodgers of Paterson, N.J., Craig Rodgers of Dover, Del., Vincent King (Sherika) of New London, N.C., Jehnai Bey of Deland, Fla., and William Bey of Camden, S.C.; sisters, Mary King, Evelyn Miller; brothers, J.B. Yarborough and Javon Jones; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and aunts, Doris Blair and Arethea Perkins. She was predeceased by siblings, George Yarborough, Love Yarborough, Annette Myles, Sharon Peeples, Marvia DuBose, Johnny Clay, Cinderella Ford, Jessie Harrell, Betty J. Bryant, Grace Allen, Tommy Yarborough, Idell Yarborough, Thelma Wells and Clara Burch.
