CAMDEN – Funeral service for Johnny Benjamin “Ben” Tidwell, 65, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Tidwell died Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Born in Cassatt, S.C., he was a son of the late Melton and Nannie Collins Tidwell. He was a carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Claudia McInvaille Tidwell; son, David Vincent (Rosa) of Kershaw; daughter, Cathy Rocha (Joe) of Camden; brother, Jerry Tidwell (Dion); sisters, Lynn Lyons, Rita Anderson (Steve) and Evelyn Simmon (Tommy); and grandchildren, Tyler Rocha, Katelyn Rocha, Caroline Vincent and Casey Vincent. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Ray.
