Aunt Diane was a constant presence in my life from birth, a steadfast figure who remained when others did not. After my mama passed in 2012, she was there to help me navigate through the hard times, offering her unwavering support and love.
One of my fondest memories growing up was the annual trip to the fair. Unlike everyone else, I wasn't just excited about the rides and games—I went to see my Aunt Diane and cousin at the Bingo booth where they worked yearly. This became a cherished tradition, one I joyfully passed down to my sons, giving them a chance to know her in the same special way.
Despite the busyness of life, Aunt Diane and I always stayed in touch. Even when we didn’t talk for a while, we could pick up right where we left off, as if no time had passed. I'm especially grateful for our recent phone call a couple of weeks ago, not knowing it would be our last conversation.
My family has always been small, but the love we share is immense. Aunt Diane was a shining example of selflessness, always putting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren first. Her beautiful spirit and loving nature have left us with countless precious memories. Thank you for understanding the depth of my pain when mama passed. Nobody understood like you did and you taught me that it’s ok to feel that while everyone else told me to get over it. You have left a lasting impression in my soul that will never be forgotten. Thank you for your selfishness
