Obituary of Marvin Wayne Harris

BISHOPVILLE- A funeral service for Marvin Wayne “Budda” Harris, 73, will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Bobby James will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church at 3002 Camden Highway, Bishopville, SC 29010.

    Mr. Harris passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Marvin L. and Betty June Rollins Harris. Mr. Harris was the owner and operator of Quality Tire and Service Center of Camden, which he opened on April 1, 1988. He was a member and Chairman of Deacons for Cedar Creek Baptist Church where he loved and served his Lord for many years. He was also a member of Bishopville Masonic Lodge 104. He enjoyed tractors, old cars, and spending time with family.

    Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Catherine Farmer Harris; sons, Andrew “Andy” Harris of Bishopville; Donald “Donnie” Harris (Mandy) of Camden; grandchildren, Chance Harris (Alyssa), Jason Harris (Taylor), Isabella Harris, Jacob Harris; and great-grandchildren, Mikey Harris and Selah Harris.
