Obituary of Joan Marie Bennett

Camden – A service to celebrate the life of Joan “Joanne” Marie Bennett, 66, will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

Ms. Bennett passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at home. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Johnson and Louise Davis Cantey.  She was a member of Evangelistic Community Center in Camden, S.C.  She retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield and later retired from the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities. She enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children, Melanie Johnson of Camden, Charles Bennett (Nicole) of River View, Fla., Shayla Bennett of Camden, and Terrell Joyner of Columbia; sisters, Dorothy Stuckey of Camden and Lula Johnson of Camden; brothers, George Johnson  (Polly) of Sumter  and Arthur Johnson, Jr. of Virginia; and 5 grandchildren.
