Obituary of William Thomas Elliott

Elgin – Funeral service for William Thomas Elliott, 86, will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. After the visitation a private family burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.

Mr. Elliott passed away at home on Saturday, October 12, 2024.  Born in Camden, S.C., he was the son of the late John Edward Charles Elliott and Mary Louise Branham Elliott.  He served in the United States Navy and retired from DuPont where he worked as a control room operator.  Old cars were his greatest hobby.  Mr. Elliott was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was a past deacon and enjoyed participating in the church activities.

Surviving are his sons, Edward Glenn Elliott (Susan) of Florence and Richard Thomas Elliott (Vicki) of Elgin; brother, John Edward Charles Elliott, Jr. (Tessie) of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Hayley Davis (Brandon), Spencer Elliott (Bremen), Evans Elliott, Taylor Jordan (Corey) and Rachel Powell (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, Easton, Jameson, and Kinsley.

The family extends a special thanks to MUSC Hospice for their loving care provided to Mr. Elliott.
