Obituary of William and Mary Ann Elliott
Elgin – William Thomas Elliott, 86, passed away at home on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Born in Camden, S.C., he was the son of the late John Edward Charles Elliott and Mary Louise Branham Elliott. He served in the United States Navy and retired from DuPont where he worked as a control room operator. Old cars were his greatest hobby. Mr. Elliott was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was a past deacon and enjoyed participating in the church activities.
Mary Ann Radcliff Elliott, 84, passed away at home on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Born in Bishopville, S.C., she was the wife of the late William Thomas Elliott, and the daughter of the late Furman W. Radcliff and Corine Mooneyham Radcliff. Mrs. Elliott was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church where she enjoyed participating in the church activities. She also enjoyed reading and puzzles.
Surviving are their sons, Edward Glenn Elliott (Susan) of Florence and Richard Thomas Elliott (Vicki) of Elgin; grandchildren, Hayley Davis (Brandon), Spencer Elliott (Bremen), Evans Elliott, Taylor Jordan (Corey) and Rachel Powell (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, Easton, Jameson, and Kinsley.
Mr. Elliott is also survived by a brother, John Edward Charles Elliott, Jr. (Tessie) of Weatherford, Texas.
Mrs. Elliott is predeceased by siblings, Elizabeth Bottoms, Harvey Ratcliff, Clara B. Kruszka, Ara L. Faulkenberry and Joseph Radcliff.
Funeral services for William and Mary Ann Elliott will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. After the services a private family burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
The family extends a special thanks to MUSC Hospice and the private caregivers for the loving care they provided to Mr. and Mrs. Elliott.
